As a textile artist, I use a variety of media in my work including paper, felt, metal and plastic. I combine free machine embroidery with hand stitching and enjoy experimenting with fabric manipulation techniques and using unlikely materials such as wire and paper beads.
My inspiration is drawn from many sources, japanese symbolism to Stone Age cultures. My work is mainly abstract, often three dimensional, but can be landscape and gardens.
Recent work combines transparent organdies and orgazas and very basic stitchery. I am working on making sculptural pieces using wire and plastic tubing, producing both 3D and wall hung pieces.
I have exhibited and sold work nationally – and also work to commission.
